1. Overview

DawnWise (the "App") is a smart alarm and sleep tracker that uses your device's microphone and accelerometer to analyze sleep overnight and wake you during light sleep. The App requires no account, shows no ads, and transmits no data — including recordings — to any server. All analysis runs entirely on your device.

2. Information We Process

2.1 Microphone Recording (Sleep Analysis)

During a sleep tracking session, microphone input is analyzed in real time on-device to detect breathing patterns, snoring, and sound levels. Raw audio is not stored and is never sent to a server. Only short snippets where snoring is detected are saved locally on your device and can be deleted within the App or by uninstalling it.

2.2 Accelerometer Data

The device accelerometer detects movement during sleep. This data is used solely for sleep stage estimation and is aggregated per minute — raw sensor data is discarded. No location data is collected.

2.3 Sleep Records (Local Storage)

Sleep analysis results (duration, estimated sleep stages, scores) are stored only in local storage on your device. You control how long records are kept (Off / 24 hours / Forever) in Settings. No records are transmitted to a server regardless of your setting.

2.4 Cloud Backup (Optional, Pro Feature)

Pro users may back up sleep records to their own iCloud (iOS) or Google Drive (Android) account. This data is stored in the user's personal cloud, not on our servers — we have no access to it.

2.5 Purchases

Unlocking advanced features (one-time purchase, product ID com.hedvion.dawnwise.pro_lifetime, $19.99) is processed by Google Play / Apple App Store. The App never collects or stores payment details; it only verifies the purchase via the store receipt. This is not a subscription and there are no recurring charges.

3. Sleep Stage Estimation Notice

Sleep stages (deep, light, REM, etc.) provided by the App are estimates based on microphone and accelerometer data and are not medical measurements. The App is not a medical device and is not intended to diagnose, treat, or prevent sleep disorders.

4. Retention and Deletion

The App collects no personal data on any server. Local data is completely removed when you delete it within the App or uninstall the App.

5. Children

The App is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
