Slang Decoder Privacy Policy

Last Updated: July 24, 2026
Effective Date: Upon app release

1. Overview

Slang Decoder ("the App") takes your privacy seriously. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect and how we use it. The App does not require an account and does not collect your name, email, or phone number. Dictionary searches, favorites, and study history stay on your device.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Sentence Decode Feature

When you use "Sentence Decode" (translating a sentence containing teen slang or K-Slang), the text you enter is sent to our server (slang.hedvion.com) for processing. The server does not store the original text — it is discarded immediately after processing. Only a daily usage count per device is recorded, used to enforce the free daily limit (with extra uses available via rewarded ads).

2.2 Device Identifier (device_id)

On install, the App generates a random unique identifier (device_id, UUID) stored on your device and sent with server requests. This value cannot be linked to your name, phone number, or email and does not identify you personally. It is used only to track daily usage limits and resets on reinstall.

2.3 Automatically Collected Information (Advertising)

The App includes third-party advertising SDKs (AppLovin MAX and its mediated networks, including Google AdMob and Meta Audience Network) that may collect the following when ads are shown to free users:

2.4 User-Generated Information (Local Storage Only)

The following stays only on your device and is never sent to a server: your word list (favorited slang), recent searches, quiz history and study stats, and app settings.

2.5 Local/Push Notifications

"Slang of the day" and (Pro only) "new slang alerts / weekly report" notifications do not collect personal data. Notifications can be disabled anytime in app settings.

2.6 Information We Do Not Collect

We never collect account information, precise GPS location, camera/microphone/contacts/photo library access, or payment card details (handled directly by Apple/Google).

8. Children

Slang Decoder is designed for parents and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The App does not collect names, ages, or emails, so no child personal data is generated. We comply with COPPA and similar child protection regulations.
