Slang Decoder Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the mobile application Slang Decoder ("Service"), provided by Hedvion ("Company").

1. Purpose

These Terms define the conditions, procedures, and rights, obligations and responsibilities of the Company and the User in connection with the Service.

2. Effect and Amendment of Terms

  1. These Terms apply to all Users of the Service.
  2. The Company may amend these Terms within the limits of applicable law, announced within the app or at https://legal.hedvion.com/slangdecoder/terms-en.
  3. Continued use after amended Terms take effect constitutes acceptance.

3. Description of the Service

  • Teen slang dictionary search (unlimited, free), including a K-Slang pack (Korean pop-culture and internet slang explained in English)
  • Sentence decode (translating sentences containing slang)
  • Quizzes, word list, cross slang packs
  • Daily slang notifications

4. Free Use and Pro

  1. Free use: Dictionary search is unlimited and free. Sentence decode is limited to 3 per day (+1 via rewarded ad), quiz to 1 set per day, word list to 20 entries, and cross slang packs (including K-Slang) to the top 30 popular entries.
  2. Daily reset: Free limits reset every day.
  3. Pro: A one-time, non-consumable in-app purchase permanently unlocks unlimited sentence decode, quiz, and word list, all cross slang packs, new-slang and weekly report push notifications, and ad removal.

5. In-App Purchases and Refunds

  1. Pro purchases are processed through Apple App Store or Google Play in-app purchase systems.
  2. Pro is a non-consumable (permanent) product restorable via "Restore Purchases" on the same store account.
  3. Refunds follow each marketplace's refund policy; the Company may revoke Pro benefits following a marketplace refund decision.
  4. Prices and benefits may change upon notice and will not apply retroactively to existing purchasers.

6. Advertising

The Service may display ads (banner, interstitial, rewarded) to free users via third-party ad networks (AppLovin MAX and mediated networks). Responsibility for ad content lies with the respective advertisers.

7. Sentence Decode Usage Notice

Text entered into the Sentence Decode feature is used solely for decoding and is not retained as raw text on the server. Users should avoid entering sensitive personal information into sentences submitted for decoding.

8. Copyright and Intellectual Property

Rights to all content comprising the Service — including design, code, dictionary compilation, logo, and trademarks — belong to the Company. You may not reproduce, distribute, or commercially exploit the Service without the Company's prior consent.

9. User Obligations

You must not reverse-engineer or decompile the Service, obtain Pro benefits by fraudulent means, interfere with normal Service operation, or violate applicable law or these Terms.

10. Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability

  1. The Company strives for accuracy in slang definitions and sentence decoding but does not warrant against errors or differing interpretations inherent to evolving slang.
  2. The Service is provided "as-is." The Company is not liable for damages from causes beyond its reasonable control, including acts of God and third-party service (marketplace, ad network) failures.

11. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea. Disputes shall be resolved through good-faith consultation, or otherwise before the competent court under the Civil Procedure Act.
