1. Overview
SnoreWise (the "App") records and analyzes snoring sounds during sleep to help you understand your snoring patterns. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect and how we use it.
Core Principle: SnoreWise does not require a user account. We do not transmit any personal data — including the nighttime audio recordings (snore snippets) captured by the App — to any server or cloud. All recordings and analysis results remain on your device only.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Microphone Recordings (On-Device Only, Never Uploaded)
- When you start a sleep session, the App monitors overnight audio through your device microphone and records short audio snippets of detected snoring, along with their timestamp, intensity, and count.
- This audio and its analysis are stored exclusively on your device's local storage and are never uploaded to any server. SnoreWise does not operate any cloud server to collect, store, or process audio.
- Recording only occurs when you explicitly start a sleep session — the App does not silently record in the background at other times.
2.2 Automatically Collected Information (For Advertising)
The App includes Google AdMob banner advertising, and the following information may be automatically collected.

Consent Management (UMP/GDPR & iOS ATT): For users in the EEA and UK, we request personalized-advertising consent via Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP). On iOS, we display an App Tracking Transparency (ATT) prompt on launch; if declined, only non-personalized ads are shown.

2.3 User-Generated Information (Local Storage Only)
The following information is not sent to any server and is stored only on your device.
- Sleep session records (recording start/end time, snore count/intensity graphs)
- App settings (sensitivity, theme, notifications, etc.)
- Pro purchase status (tied to your device/store account)
These data remain entirely on your device. Deleting the App will delete all this data.
2.4 Information We Do Not Collect
SnoreWise never collects:
- User account information (email, name, phone number, etc.) — there is no sign-up at all
- Identity information or personally identifiable information (PII)
- Payment details (card numbers, detailed transaction history — handled directly by Apple/Google)
- Precise GPS location
- Contacts, calendar, or photo library access
- Any upload, cloud backup, or third-party transfer of your recorded audio (none occurs)
3. Purposes of Information Use
3.1 Core Service Delivery

Important: Payment information (card numbers, transaction details) is processed directly by Apple or Google — SnoreWise has no server to receive or store it.
4. Information Sharing & Third Parties
4.1 Google AdMob (Advertising)
- Provider: Google LLC
- Information Shared: Advertising ID, device information, approximate location, app usage logs
- Purpose: Serving personalized ads and measuring ad performance

- User Control: Reset your Advertising ID or disable personalized ads in iOS/Android settings; iOS users may decline the ATT prompt
4.2 Apple App Store / Google Play (Payment)
- Information Shared: Pro purchase history (amount, date)
- Purpose: Purchase verification and restoration
- Policies: Apple Privacy / Google Privacy
4.3 Recorded Audio — No Third-Party Sharing
Audio snippets recorded during sleep are never transmitted, shared, or sold to any third party. Because there is no server, there is no risk of audio leakage from a server breach.
4.4 Other Third Parties
SnoreWise does not share personal information with any third party except:
- Court orders or legal requirement
- Investigation of App Terms violation
- Fraud prevention and security purposes
5. Data Retention & Deletion

Upon App Deletion: All local data (recordings, reports, settings, cached purchase status) is automatically deleted from the device. Your purchase itself remains on your Apple/Google account and can be recovered via "Restore Purchases" after reinstalling.
6. Your Rights
6.1 Right to Access and Rectification
Since all data is stored locally, you can view, modify, and delete your own recordings/settings directly within the App.
6.2 Right to Erasure
You can delete individual sessions in-app, or uninstall the App to instantly erase all local data.
6.3 Right to Restrict Processing (Advertising)
If you don't want personalized advertising:
- iOS: Choose "Ask App Not to Track" at the ATT prompt, or Settings > Privacy > Apple Ads > Turn off Personalized Ads
- Android: Settings > Google > Manage your Google Account > Data & Privacy > Reset Advertising ID
7. Security
- Local Storage: All audio/data is stored only within your device's app sandbox storage.
- Transmission Encryption: Ad requests and payment verification use HTTPS/TLS encryption.
- No Central Server: SnoreWise does not maintain a central server that stores user audio or personal data, eliminating server-breach risk.
- If your device is lost or stolen, local stored data could be exposed. We recommend using a device PIN or biometric lock.
8. Health-Related Notice (Not a Medical Device)
SnoreWise is not a medical device and is not a diagnostic or treatment tool. Snore counts, intensity, and other information provided by the App are for informational purposes only and do not diagnose any medical condition, including sleep apnea. If you experience severe snoring or suspect sleep apnea, please consult a doctor or qualified healthcare professional.
9. Children & Minors
SnoreWise is designed for all ages. If a child under 13 uses the App, a parent/guardian must read and consent to this policy, and may disable ad-ID tracking for the child via device settings. SnoreWise does not collect account, name, email, or other PII, and complies with COPPA and similar child protection regulations.
10. International Data Transfer
Default: Local storage on your device (no international transfer). Advertising (Google AdMob): Google may process data on servers worldwide. See Google's Privacy Policy for details.
11. Policy Changes
This Privacy Policy may be updated anytime. We will notify you of major changes via app notice or update notes. Continued use of the App implies acceptance of the updated policy.
