1. Overview
HWP Viewer (the "App") lets you open Korean HWP and HWPX (Hancom Word Processor) document files on iPhone and iPad, search and copy text, edit extracted text, and export as HWPX. This Privacy Policy explains what information is collected while using the App and how it is handled.
Core principle: The App does not require a user account and does not permanently store document content on any server.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Document files (temporary transfer for conversion)
Older .hwp files and some .hwpx files cannot be rendered on-device, so they are sent to our conversion server (hwpconv.hedvion.com) to be converted to PDF or extracted text.
- Purpose of transfer: Solely for PDF rendering / text extraction conversion.
- Not stored: Uploaded document files are not stored on the conversion server; temporary processing files are deleted immediately after conversion completes.
- Transmission security: App-to-server communication is encrypted via HTTPS/TLS and authenticated with an app-specific key (X-App-Key).
- .hwpx files that can be parsed on-device are processed entirely on your device and are never sent to a server.
2.2 Locally stored information
The following information is never sent to a server and is stored only on your device:
- Recently opened document list and cached conversion results (PDF/text), subject to a size-limited LRU cache
- App settings such as theme and language
- Ad-removal purchase status
Deleting the App removes all of this local data.
2.3 Advertising data (Google AdMob)
Unless you purchase ad removal, the App shows Google AdMob ads. Google may collect the advertising identifier (IDFA), device information (model, OS version), approximate location (IP-based), and ad interaction data. On iOS, IDFA is collected only after you respond to the App Tracking Transparency (ATT) prompt, and in the EU/EEA/UK a consent flow is shown via Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP). 2.4 Payments
The one-time ad-removal purchase is processed by the Apple App Store in-app purchase system. The App never collects or stores payment card details.

4. Information Sharing & Third Parties
4.1 Google AdMob (advertising)
- Provider: Google LLC
- Information shared: Advertising identifier, device information, approximate location, app usage logs
- Your control: You can change per-app tracking permission anytime in iOS Settings > Privacy > Tracking
4.2 Apple App Store (payments)
Ad-removal purchase history is processed directly by Apple, used solely for purchase verification.
4.3 Other third parties
We do not share personal information with any other third party, except where required by court order or law, to investigate violations of our Terms, or for fraud prevention and security purposes.
5. Data Retention

6. Your Rights
You may delete all local data by uninstalling the App, and you may opt out of ad tracking at any time in iOS Settings. Because documents are never permanently stored on our servers, no separate server-side deletion request is needed.
7. Children
The App is a document utility not directed at children and does not collect age, name, email, or other personally identifiable information.
