1. Service
MetalScope (the "App") provides tools to measure local changes in the magnetic field using your device's built-in magnetic sensor, and to show, record, and visualize possible ferrous metal nearby.
2. Limits of Detection (Important — please read)
Detection in the App is a reference estimate based on a consumer-grade smartphone magnetic sensor and has clear limits:
- Only ferrous metal (iron and steel) responds. Non-magnetic metals such as aluminium, copper, brass, and much stainless steel do not distort the magnetic field and will not be detected. Copper pipes and aluminium wiring cannot be found with this App.
- It cannot find a wooden stud itself. What responds in a wall are the nails, screws, and other steel fasteners holding the stud.
- It cannot tell whether wiring is live, and it does not measure Wi-Fi, 5G, or other radio signals (RF). It reads a static magnetic field.
- It cannot determine depth, size, or material, and detection range varies greatly with the size of the target and the quality of the device sensor.
- Nearby magnetic objects (speakers, magnets, steel furniture, reinforced structures, cases and mounts) and magnetic noise can distort results.
3. Your Safety Responsibility (Important)
Do not drill, nail, or cut into a wall, floor, or ceiling based on the App's result alone. The absence of a reaction is not a guarantee that nothing is there. Before any work, take separate safety measures: check building plans, use professional detection equipment, switch off the breaker, and consult a qualified professional where appropriate. The App does not replace professional detection equipment or an electrical safety inspection.
4. Purchases and Refunds
Ad removal is a one-time, non-consumable purchase applied permanently. Payments and refunds follow the policies and procedures of the store the App was installed from. Use the in-app "Restore purchase" feature to restore.
5. Intellectual Property
Rights to the App and its components (design, code, graphics) belong to the developer. Scans you save and images you export belong to you.
6. Disclaimer
The App is provided "as is". The developer makes no warranty as to the accuracy or completeness of detection results and, to the maximum extent permitted by law, is not liable for property damage or personal injury arising from decisions or actions based on those results — whether the App reacted or did not react.

These terms may change; updates will be posted on this page.
