1. What this app is
RowNest is a personal tool for viewing knitting and crochet patterns you already own, counting rows on them, and keeping track of your yarn. By installing and using the app you agree to these terms.
2. Patterns — rights and responsibility
RowNest does not sell, distribute or broker patterns. It simply opens, on your own device, a file you obtained legitimately.
- Copyright in any pattern you add stays with its designer. Using it in this app changes nothing about those rights.
- You must only add files you are entitled to use. You alone are responsible for adding patterns that were copied or shared without permission.
- The app never transmits, shares or publishes your patterns to other users or to any server.
3. Patterns included with the app
The starter patterns bundled with the app (dishcloth, scarf, beanie and similar) were written by us. Personal use is free; redistribution or resale of the patterns is not permitted. Selling items you make from them is not restricted.
4. Limits of the calculations
Every figure and verdict in the app is guidance based on the values you entered and is not guaranteed to be accurate. In particular:
- Yardage and remaining-yarn verdicts depend on the ball band figures and scale readings you type in. Actual consumption varies with gauge, tension and technique, so we are not liable if you rely on a verdict, do not buy more yarn, and cannot finish a piece.
- The dye-lot warning is based on the lot numbers you enter. If a lot is missing or mistyped, no warning may appear.
- Balls you have not weighed are treated as "unknown" and left out of the total — that does not mean you have none.
- Row counters and the ruler record what you tap; they do not verify the actual rows in your knitting.
5. Looking after your data
All data lives on your device and we keep no backup of it. Loss caused by a lost or reset device, or by deleting the app, is your responsibility, so we recommend using Export a backup regularly.
6. Paid features
Pro is a one-time, non-consumable purchase, not a subscription. Payment and refunds follow the policy of the store you bought it from. If Pro is ever inactive again, projects, patterns and stash you already created are never deleted or locked — you can still open and export them.
7. Disclaimer
The app is provided "as is". To the extent permitted by law we are not liable for indirect or incidental losses arising from its use, including wasted materials, wasted time, or flaws in a finished piece.
