These Terms of Service (the "Terms") govern your use of the Scanbox mobile application ("Scanbox", the "App"), published by HEDVION ("we", "us"). By installing or using the App you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

1. The service

Scanbox is an on-device document scanner. It lets you capture pages with your camera, detect edges, apply image enhancement, run optical character recognition (OCR), and generate PDF files. All of this processing happens locally on your device.

2. License

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the App on devices you own or control, for your own lawful purposes, subject to these Terms and the rules of the app store from which you obtained the App.

3. On-device processing

Capture, edge detection, image enhancement, OCR and PDF generation are performed entirely on your device. Your documents, scans and recognized text are not uploaded to us or to any server. Scanbox has no user accounts and no cloud sync. You are solely responsible for backing up documents you create; uninstalling the App or clearing its data will permanently remove documents stored on the device.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the App to scan, store or process material you have no right to handle, to infringe anyone's intellectual property or privacy, or to violate any applicable law. You are responsible for the content you scan and for complying with the laws that apply to it.

5. Purchases

Scanbox is free to use with advertising. You may make a one-time purchase ("Pro") to remove ads and unlock premium features. Pro is a one-time purchase, not a subscription. Purchases are processed by the app store (Apple App Store or Google Play), which is the merchant of record; billing, taxes and refunds are handled under that store's policies. To the extent permitted by law and store policy, a purchase that has already been delivered and consumed is non-refundable. You can restore a previous purchase on a new device using the "Restore purchases" option in Settings.

6. Third-party services

In the free tier the App displays advertising through third-party networks (such as Google AdMob) and processes purchases through the app store. Those providers operate under their own terms and privacy policies, which apply to their services.

7. Intellectual property

The App, its design and its software are owned by HEDVION and protected by law. These Terms do not transfer any ownership to you. Documents you create with the App belong to you.

8. Disclaimer

The App is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that OCR results are accurate or that the App will be uninterrupted or error-free. You are responsible for verifying any output before relying on it.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, HEDVION will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for any loss of data or documents, arising out of or relating to your use of the App.

10. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected on this page with a new "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the App after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Republic of Korea, to the extent permitted by applicable law.
